Kodi 17.4 ipa download?. Updating Kodi requires downloading the newest version of Kodi (Kodi 17.5 in this case) and installing it over the existing installation.
I just updated my rpi2 to latest kodi 15.1 and kernel 4.1.5-1. It seems that audio passthrough for AC3 and DTS does not work any more. Download to kodi offline viewing. Also, if I disable AC3 and DTS, kodi does not decode all audio channels. I can hear the music of the movies, but not the voices (like the center channel is not decoded). Kodi (formerly XBMC) is a free and open source media player application developed by the XBMC/Kodi Foundation, a non-profit technology consortium. Kodi is available for multiple operating-systems and hardware platforms, featuring a 10-foot user interface for use with televisions and remote controls. In order to decode DTS-HD, MakeMKV needs a so-called reference decoder DLL. Please don't be confused - MakeMKV only uses this DLL as 'algorithm reference'. With this DLL, DTS-HD decoding will work on all platforms - Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, 32-bit and 64-bit. The fact that this DLL is a Windows 32-bit DLL doesn't matter. steelman1991 mentioned this in another thread, but I thought it was important enough to warrant it's own post.
Nevcairiel seems to have cracked the DTS-MA decoder nut, and it is now a part of ffmpeg.
Despite the fact most htpc users can bitstream HD DTS varients to their receiver I still think this is big news for a couple of reasons.
1) it gives someone who uses their pc as a pre/pro more playback software options
2) it opens up Linux to those who need to decode at the player
3) Plex. Plex uses ffmpeg in their transcoder. There are so many devices that can output LPCM, but not DTS. If they can incorporate decoding at the server and spitting out LPCM then they will open up a bunch of possibilities.
4) if it can be ported into Android, then that solves another host of problems

That is great news. Guess that means we won't see it incorporated into kodi 15 as they surely are in feature freeze by now.

This is great news. This makes a low power, dedicated htpc running openelec more viable.

I did originally post in the MPC-HC set-up sticky, but it clearly got lost there - thanks for adding it as a topic in it's own right. Nevcairiel seems to have cracked the DTS-MA decoder nut, and it is now a part of ffmpeg.

I am in the first catagory that you mentioned in the first post, as I am using my PC as a pre/pro. (I am still building my system, it's not yet functional). How would I use this to play back movies in DTS-MA when using JRiver on a PC? Would I just download the ffmpeg file and open it every time that I want to watch a Bluray that I have saved on my external drive? Is there a more seem less way of making this work without having to open another file or program when I want to watch a movie in the DTS-MA codec?

Tip - if you are using/going to use JRiver, this option is already available natively, there is no need to download any seperate files. All you would do is tell JRiver not to bitstream audio, then JRiver would decode the stream when you played a file from the program (either from file or from Theatre View)

Great news! Is it possible to use the decoder in eac3to or other programs to decode DTS-HD MA to WAV for further processing, or is this a playback-only solution so far? I would think that ffmpeg could decode to a file, but I'm not entirely sure.

This is relevant only to JRiver MC 20.0.100 and newer. Prior versions need dtsdecoderdll.dll from Arcsoft TotalMediaTheatre which is now discontinued but if you know where to look you can still find it.http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Blu-ray#HD_Audio

Just to confirm, you guys are saying that now, JRiver MC 20.0.100 can decode and playback lossless DTS-MA for the Bluray rips that I have on my external drive? http://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Blu-ray#HD_Audio
Is this a relatively new development? Just a month or so ago when I was starting to research using my PC w/JRiver as a pre/pro and my primary source, I was told that I had to have a special file or program to play back DTS-MA in this manor.

It is probably this new open source one as Nevcairiel is an employee of JRiver.

It is new. For years that Arcsoft DLL file was the only way to decode DTS-MA outside of 'real' bluray software. It was also used in some ripping programs to convert to FLAC or whatever.
Apparently it was released with his LAV filters a few weeks ago from what I'm reading. There isn't a huge universe of HTPC users that this helps, since bitstreaming to a receiver is pretty easy now. But I still think its big news, considering how long it has taken to develop.
If Plex can utilize this it will turn way more devices into HD audio capable units.

This is huge for me, as I use my PC as a pre/pro so bit streaming to an AVR was not possible in my case. Apparently it was released with his LAV filters a few weeks ago from what I'm reading. Just out of curiosity, how was Handbrake dealing with DTS-MA? I know it had the option to covert to other audio like FLAC or DD. Was it just using the Core track to do that and not the full MA track?
